About LakeHaus Kennels
LakeHaus Kennels is a small, purpose-driven breeding program focused on producing German Shorthaired Pointers that are functional, sound, and easy to live with.
Sound temperament, good health, and correct, functional structure are the baseline here — not goals.

How It All Began
My journey with German Shorthaired Pointers began in 2009 in a way I never expected.
My first GSP, Hank, came to me as a foster — a breed so unfamiliar at the time that I had to look it up in a dog encyclopedia. I fell hard for the breed almost immediately.
Losing Hank at just three and a half years old to health issues was devastating
A few years later, I brought home Murphy. At the time, I didn’t know what to look for in a responsible breeder, and he came from a program that didn’t prioritize health testing or temperament. Murphy also developed serious health problems and passed away before his fourth birthday..
Those early experiences were painful, but they shaped everything that came next. They taught me how critical health testing, sound breeding practices, and stable temperaments truly are — not in theory, but in real life. More than anything, they gave me a clear sense of purpose: to make sure families who love this breed don’t have to go through what I did.
The Program Today
That purpose led to the founding of LakeHaus Kennels, with a focus on breeding German Shorthaired Pointers that are healthy, well-adjusted, and capable of excelling in a variety of roles — as companions, hunters, and competitors — while living long, full lives.
